Draw it
Press 4 or click Building on the left. There are two ways to draw.
Two corners: a rectangle
Click one corner. Then:
- Shift + click the opposite corner, or
- click the opposite corner and press Enter.
You get a rectangle between the two corners.
Footprint: any shape
For an L-shape or anything else, click every corner of the outline, like an area. Close it by clicking the first corner, pressing Enter or double-clicking.
While you draw, the hint shows the size and the footprint in blocks and stacks. The building sits on the ground where you drew it.
Height and storeys
In the inspector:
- Base Y: the block level it stands on.
- Height: in blocks. New buildings start at 8.
- Storey: blocks from floor to floor. It starts at 4. The map shows a line for every storey.
- Wall material: the block for the walls.
The numbers
- Footprint: blocks of ground it covers, with its size
- Walls: blocks around × height
- Floor / storey: floor blocks inside the walls, and how many storeys fit
- Roof: a flat roof the size of the footprint
- Shell total: walls + upper floors + roof
- Volume
Roofs
The roof count is a flat roof over the footprint. For a pitched roof, write it in the Notes or on the building's pinboard.
Change it later
Drag the white corner handles to reshape it. Rectangles stay rectangles: hold Shift to move one corner freely. R turns it by 90°.
