Import a schematic
Bring a real build into your plan from a schematic file (.litematic, .schem, .schematic or .nbt). The file stays on your computer and is never uploaded.
For App · browser and desktop · Updated
Found a house, a farm or a castle as a schematic file? Import it once and place it on your map like any building.
Open the Schematics panel
Click Schematic (the boxes) in the toolbar, or press 7. The panel opens on the Schematics tab.
Add the file
Click Import a schematic and choose the file. Or drop one or more files onto the panel, or straight onto the map. While it works, the panel says "Reading the file…".
Name it and add its link
A small form opens with the file's size and number of blocks. Give it a Name, and paste the Link to the original post (the page you downloaded it from). The link is shown on the building (the link icon) so everyone can find the creator and the file. Only web links (https://…) work.
Press Place on map to place it now (Place, turn and mirror), or Save to keep it for later.
Files stay on this computer
MC Planner never uploads your schematic files. The panel keeps them in this browser under My schematics (this browser, all worlds), ready for every world you open here. Why: Why schematic files are never shared.
Files it can read
| File | Made with |
|---|---|
.litematic | Litematica |
.schem | WorldEdit |
.schematic | MCEdit / Schematica, from before Minecraft 1.13 |
.nbt | Structure blocks |
- A
.zip? Unpack it first, then import the file inside. - Bedrock
.mcstructurefiles don't work. Look for the Java Edition download. - Very large files and very large builds are refused with a message that says why.
My schematics
Every imported file is listed under My schematics (this browser, all worlds), with its size, its number of blocks and, if there is one, the link to where it's from.
- Place puts it on the map.
- The pencil changes the name and the source link. No link yet? Click + add source link.
- X removes it from this browser (press Delete to confirm, or Keep). Buildings you already placed stay in the plan.
Importing the same file twice doesn't make a copy: MC Planner sees it's the same file.
Another browser or computer
Your list lives in this browser only. On another computer, or in another browser, import the file again. Placed buildings without their file show as a plain box until you do.
