Schematic ghost blocks and build progress
A schematic placed in the app shows in Minecraft as see-through ghost blocks, from your own copy of the file. Blocks you've built disappear, so you see what's left.
For Mod 0.2.0 · Minecraft 26.2 · Fabric · Updated
A building placed from a schematic in MC Planner shows its blocks in the game: every block in the right spot, see-through, turned and mirrored like in the app.
What's left to build
Place a block where the schematic wants that block, placed the same way, and its ghost disappears. What you still see is what's still to build. Connections, growth and water levels don't count, only the block and how it's placed.
Walls, roof and storey lines of the building make way for the blocks.
Why the file has to be on your computer
Builds belong to their creators. MC Planner never uploads schematic files or shares them: the plan only knows the file's fingerprint, its size and where it's from (the source link). So the mod looks for your own copy, by its fingerprint, and only reads it. Nothing is uploaded.
It looks in:
- this Minecraft profile's
schematicsfolder (Litematica's folder), - your Downloads and your Desktop,
Documents\MC Planner,- on Windows with OneDrive, also OneDrive's Desktop and
Documents\MC Planner.
It looks through the schematics folder and Documents\MC Planner with their subfolders, Downloads and the folders directly in it, and the files on the Desktop itself, up to 2000 files in all.
The file's name doesn't matter. Only its content has to be the same as the one placed in the app.
When the file is missing
You see the building as a plain box, and its label says "schematic file missing". Press J and click the building:
Get the file
The screen says "Not on this computer: get it from the source link, put it in Downloads or the schematics folder". Open source link opens the page it came from (Minecraft asks first, as for every link).
Put it where the mod looks
Save it to Downloads, or press Schematics folder to open the profile's schematics folder and put it there.
Look again
Press Look again. The mod also looks again by itself every 20 seconds. Found: "Shown with its blocks (from Downloads). Built blocks disappear."
Files it can read
.litematic(Litematica),.schem(Sponge, versions 1 to 3) and.nbt(structure files).- Old MCEdit/Schematica
.schematicfiles (from before Minecraft 1.13) show as a box with a note. The app shows them. - A
.zipneeds unpacking first. Files bigger than 60 MB aren't looked at. - Very big builds show as a box: more than 600 000 blocks, or larger than 16 million blocks of space. The app shows them.
Still a box? A schematic shows only as a box.
