Block textures for friends
Invited to a shared world? Use your own Minecraft, let your browser fetch the official game file straight from Mojang, or join with map colours only.
For App · browser and desktop · Updated
The host shares the world, but never their textures. You bring yours, in one of three ways. Joining is free.
Pick one
The invite card asks for block textures before the last Join. The world itself streams from the host.
Minecraft is on this computer
Drop your game's .jar on the card, or click it to choose the file. It's read on this computer only. Where to find it: Bring your blocks.
In the desktop app, MC Planner takes the jar of the host's version from this computer by itself, if it finds one.
No Minecraft here: get it from Mojang
Press Get the block textures from Mojang. Your browser downloads the official game file of the host's version straight from Mojang, once. The card shows the version and the size first.
By clicking you confirm you own Minecraft: Java Edition and accept the Minecraft EULA. This browser remembers your yes and keeps the file, so next time it starts by itself.
No textures at all: map colours only
Press Join with map colours only. You see the host's map in its colours and can plan, without 3D blocks. The status bar says Map colours only.
Mojang's files stay with Mojang
MC Planner never stores, relays or passes on Mojang's files. The download goes from Mojang's own servers straight to your browser. The host's game file is never sent to you, and yours is never sent to anyone.
Mojang doesn't have the host's version
Then MC Planner offers the closest release, and the card says so next to the button.
Get textures later
Joined with map colours only and want blocks now? Leave the world and open the invite link again. Then get the textures from Mojang, or load your own jar.
For hosts
You don't need to do anything. Your friends' textures come from their own Minecraft or from Mojang, never from you. More: What goes online.
