Worlds and game files

The desktop app finds your game files and worlds from the usual launchers and opens worlds in place. How to add worlds from other folders, like server backups.

For Desktop app · Windows, macOS, Linux · Updated

The desktop app looks in your launchers' folders. You pick a game version and a world, without dragging files around.

It looks in the usual folders of the official launcher, Modrinth App, Prism Launcher, MultiMC and CurseForge.

Pick your game version

On "Bring your blocks.", the versions are listed under "Found on this computer". The newest is marked newest. Click the one you play.

Not listed? Drop the .jar onto …or drop another game .jar here, like in the browser: Find the game file.

Pick your world

"Worlds on this computer" shows your worlds with their icon, launcher and when you last played. Click one to open it.

Many worlds? Type in Search…, or press Show all. Just made a new one? Press refresh.

Worlds in other folders

For worlds on another drive, a server backup or a launcher the app doesn't know:

  1. Open Add a folder (worlds on another drive, server backups…) under the world list.
  2. Paste the folder, for example a saves folder or one world's own folder. In Explorer or Finder, open the folder and copy its path from the address bar.
  3. Press Add.

The app remembers the folder. remove next to it takes it off the list.

"No worlds found"? The message lists the folders it searched. Add yours as above.

Opened in place

The app reads the world straight from its folder. No zipping, no copy. It only reads: your save is never changed.

So it always shows the newest save. While you play, it notices new saves: Reload when Minecraft saves.

Change the game files

Resource packs, mod textures or another version: Change them later.
